Our History

2008, Workshop Startup

Initial Founding Stage

Founder Qian Hongsong founded Shengzhou Wanzanshan Livestock Cage Equipment Factory, the predecessor of lefeng Cage. With only nine workers, the company entered the livestock breeding equipment sector by focusing on automated rabbit breeding equipment, spearheading innovations to upgrade traditional rabbit raising facilities.

Early Positioning: Focused on China’s domestic rabbit farming market, independently developed supporting automatic feeding and manure cleaning systems, and built a customer base of breeding farms.

2012, Pivotal Year

Corporate Establishment & Breakthrough in National Projects

May 2012: The self-developed project Research & Technical Demonstration of Automatic Feeding & Manure Cleaning Systems for Healthy Livestock and Poultry Breeding was approved as a National Spark Program Project under the Ministry of Science and Technology. Its equipment was included in the national agricultural machinery subsidy catalogue, granting official national recognition for its technology.

July 5, 2012: Shaoxing lefeng Cage Equipment Co., Ltd. was officially registered for business with Qian Hongsong as legal representative, marking the company’s transformation from a family workshop to a standardized formal enterprise.

Full-year 2012: Launched trademark registration and patent portfolio development; expanded product lines to chicken cages and pigeon cages, while developing laboratory animal cages for universities and research institutes.

October 2012: The first generation of automated rabbit breeding equipment was successfully developed and put into practical operation on rabbit farms.

2013–2016

Brand Growth & Production Capacity Expansion

2013: Registered the "lefeng" brand trademark; introduced CNC bending machines and automatic welding equipment to realize mass production of a full range of automated farm cage systems.

December 13, 2014: CCTV’s popular innovation program I Love Inventions produced a 52-minute documentary featuring lefeng’s fully intelligent breeding cage equipment. As a CCTV-featured brand, lefeng gained nationwide widespread recognition.

2015–2016: Supplied stainless steel laboratory animal cages to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, agricultural universities and academies nationwide. Meanwhile, the company launched overseas trade, exporting foldable pet cat cages and dog cages to Europe and the United States in bulk.

2017–2022

Diversified Layout & Capital Consolidation

2017: Exhibited at the National Rabbit Industry Exchange Conference; its automated European-style rabbit cages became industry benchmark products, making lefeng a core supplier for large and medium-scale commercial rabbit farms across China.

2020: Awarded National High-tech Enterprise certification for the first time, with official state recognition of its R&D capacity.

By 2022: Continued filing utility model and invention patents, holding over 100 patents in total. Its product portfolio covered livestock & poultry breeding cages, scientific laboratory cages, household pet cages and other segments.

2023–2025

High-tech Enterprise Recertification & Domestic Market Strategic Transformation

2023: Awarded National High-tech Enterprise certification for the second time, reaffirming state recognition of its research and development strength.

2024: Equipped with a full set of automated production lines including fully automatic intelligent welding machines, laser cutting equipment and hydraulic forming machines. Its overseas export business faced headwinds from fluctuating overseas tariff policies.2024: Named Shengzhou Municipal Leading Agricultural Enterprise.

2025: Recognized as Shaoxing Municipal Key Leading Agricultural Enterprise.Adjusted business strategy: Accelerated layout for the domestic economic cycle, promoted localized supply chains, and vigorously secured orders from large domestic automated breeding conglomerates. Stepped up development of domestic and international markets for laboratory cages and commercial pet cages to mitigate operational risks caused by overreliance on foreign trade.

2026

Current Stage

2026: Awarded National High-tech Enterprise certification for the third time, with continuous official state validation of its R&D strength. Corporate Operation Status: Stable ongoing operation, specializing in customized rabbit cages, chicken cages, laboratory cages, pet cages and complete sets of automated breeding systems.

Business Coverage: Serves large-scale breeding farms and research universities nationwide domestically; maintains steady export volume to multiple European and American countries.

Qualifications & Certifications: National High-tech Enterprise, Science & Technology-based SME, Municipal Leading Agricultural Enterprise, complete qualification for agricultural machinery subsidy eligible equipment, and Zhejiang Provincial Science & Technology Enterprise.
